Overview

As the Business Process Architect, you will be a key player in shaping the evolution of our organization by driving process optimization and business transformation initiatives. You will steer process changes and recommendations to align with strategic goals while fostering efficiency, promoting reusability, minimizing risks, and achieving measurable benefits. Applying proven Business Process Management methodologies enhanced by Lean principles and Lean Six Sigma techniques you will identify inefficiencies, reduce waste, and strengthen operational performance as you thoughtfully design our enterprise processes.

You will develop meaningful connections across diverse high-performing teams, while contributing to the core of our organization by refining processes and maximizing efficiency while building the organization’s Process Architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the Business Process Management team, program director and project team, business units (management and frontline staff), Information Technology staff, and external vendors.
  • Lead, engage, and participate in project working groups and committees as required, ensuring process considerations and optimization opportunities are considered.
  •  Lead and facilitate Lean events (eg. Kaizen and Rapid Improvement Events) and drive measurable improvements and support continuous improvements across enterprise. 
  • Administer the MPI Process Framework, ensuring standards are applied consistently to process solutions.
  • Develop and maintain Value Streams to ensure there is a connection/flow among processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Lead and facilitate workshops to define target‑state business processes, bridging the gap between business and technology consumers while embedding optimization and Lean thinking.
  • Communicate critical process requirements for strategic initiatives, collaborating with Business Process Analysts to capture and document changes, ensuring alignment with identified benefits, performance improvements and organizational and goals.
  • Collaborate with all Business Process Architects to ensure practice consistency and framework completeness across all domains.
  • Collaborate across other architectural domains to ensure up-to-date cross mapping between processes to other common model entities (Business Capabilities, Applications, Data, etc.) enabling and integrated and optimized enterprise view.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Degree in Commerce, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Certification in Business Architecture or Technical Architecture discipline an asset.
  • Certification in related disciplines (Lean Green Belt, Project Management, SAFe) an asset.

 

Experience:

  • Five years related experience in business process management, including process mapping, design, and improvement.

 

Technical Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience leading or supporting business process transformation an asset.
  • Experience applying Lean concepts and Value Stream an asset.
  • Experience in an Agile workplace environment as asset.
  • Advanced communication skills, including the ability to present information effectively to various audiences.
  • Advanced analytical skills.
  • Change management skills with demonstrated ability to act as a catalyst for change within the business.
