Overview

The Senior Network Analyst is responsible for advanced support of the data networking communications and related security technologies. The position develops, plans, schedules and organizes specific processing related to network technologies, including performance management, tuning, capacity planning, and change control.

 

The Senior Network Analyst assists with the design, implementation and maintenance of the MPI enterprise data network environment as well as all Cloud networking services and components and is a proactive leader in determining how this technology integrates and helps corporate clients and customers. The Senior Network Analyst is the senior specialist responsible for current and future tier 3 technical support, and often acts as a project leader for assigned technical projects and duties.

Responsibilities

The Senior Network Analyst provides the following technology related functions around a technology platform consisting of a multi-site wide area network (WAN), local area networks (LANs) in multiple locations, Wi-Fi networking, security technologies, Cloud computing networks as well as all network tools used in operating and maintaining a steady, reliable network environment.

 

  • Operational Support: Maintains high network availability across cloud and on-prem environments; resolves complex issues independently; follows change control processes.
  • Process Improvement: Enhances network management standards, procedures, and documentation.
  • Capacity & Asset Management: Forecasts and tracks network inventory; plans for future capacity needs.
  • Maintenance & Upgrades: Deploys new technologies and infrastructure improvements.
  • Risk & Performance Management: Monitors network performance and security; drives optimization and automation.
  • Disaster Recovery: Develops and implements resilient recovery strategies.
  • Project Leadership: Provides technical leadership and consultation on network-impacting projects.
  • Technology Expertise: Acts as a subject matter expert; supports staff with consulting and problem-solving.
  • Solution Development: Designs network solutions aligned with business needs and enterprise architecture.
  • Client & Team Focus: Builds strong relationships; mentors team members; fosters collaboration.
  • Professional Development: Stays current with technology trends; performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Diploma in Computer Science, Business or related discipline.

 

Experience:

 

Seven years in the IT industry, including:

  • Four years in support of the network technology platform.
  • Four years in implementing and supporting cloud networking environments including experience supporting Azure Cloud Networking.
  • Four years in a progressive project management or technical leadership role in a related technical support discipline.

Technical Knowledge and Skills:

  • Cloud networking concepts and services such as Virtual Networks, Load Balancers, VPN Gateways, Bastian, firewalls and more.
  • Software Defined Wide Area Networks (SDWAN).
  • Web Application Firewalls (WAF).
  • Maintaining routing tables.
  • Advanced technical, planning and leadership skills.
  • Intermediate problem solving and decision-making skills, in a fast-paced environment.
