Overview

As a Developer 1, you will be part of the Software Development & Operations team which maintains, modifies and upgrades purchased and customer developed software. You will be responsible for designing program logics, codes and test programs as part of the project team.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business users in the requirement gathering process.
  • Work with the senior developer and systems analyst in design process.
  • Design program logic for simple programs and generate program code.
  • Compile and de-bug program code.
  • Take part in the development of code for projects and production support, as well as code review and testing process.
  • Participate in preparing test data, test programs and correct program errors.
  • Implement and document approved programs.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in computer science or a related IT discipline.
  • Proficiency in programming language such as PowerBuilder, VB.NET and UNIX.
  • Proficiency in RDBMS databases language such as Sybase and SQL Server.
  • Thorough understanding of SDLC and object-oriented programming.
  • Knowledge in XML, XSL and web services is an asset.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required level of security clearance is a condition of employment.
