As the Associate Driver Examiner, you will be responsible for administering all class 1-5, written and oral knowledge tests and class 4 and 5 road tests in accordance with Driver Testing and Licencing Manuals and schedules.
Explain errors made on an applicant’s road test and discuss corrective measures and safe driving practices with them.
Check the driver and vehicle licencing and inter-provincial systems to determine driver eligibility and explain any requirements (ie: suspension, medicals, etc.).
Conduct vision screening to determine applicant’s ability to meet l vision standards.
Issue and correct all classes of written tests and explain errors.
Issue all types of licences and explain any coded conditions (including conditional licences).
Education & Experience
High school graduation and four years of customer service experience.
Community college diploma or university degree and one year of customer service experience.
Special Skills & Requirements
Class 1 learner’s permit.
Two years with a full stage driver’s licence.
Acceptable driving record.
Excellent oral, interpersonal and decision making skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and to exercise good judgment.
Good understanding of related Acts, regulations, policies, procedures and related programs.
